16 Sugar Cookies

These sugar cookies are so easy to make, don't need chilling, and taste amazing! And, this recipe only makes like 16-20 cookies. So it means I don't overload on cookies too much! Perfect for small get togethers, or any occasion where you want to decorate and eat but don't want too many.

Sugar cookie recipe is from One Little Project and icing is from Betty Crocker

Cookies

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 an egg (you can do this by beating the egg and then measuring out half of it, about 2 Tbsp.)
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until smooth
  3. Add in vanilla and egg
  4. In another bowl, mix flour salt, and baking powder
  5. Combine flour mixture to butter mixture a little at a time until mixed completely
  6. Knead with hands until mixed thoroughly
  7. Roll out with a rolling pin onto floured surface (don't roll too thin, about 1/4" thick)
  8. Cut out into your favorite shapes
  9. Place on a cookie sheet and cook about 8 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack
